Ingredients: 2 cup (80g) basil leaves; 1/2 cup (75g) pine nuts, toasted; 1 clove garlic; 1/3 cup (30g) grated parmesan; 1/2 teaspoon sea salt; freshly ground black pepper; 3/4 cup (185ml) olive oil

Pesto sauce

Your own homemade classic Italian pesto sauce made with basil. Take advantage of basil in season and make plenty for your friends.

Ingredients

2 cup (80g) basil leaves

1/2 cup (75g) pine nuts, toasted

1 clove garlic

1/3 cup (30g) grated parmesan

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

freshly ground black pepper

3/4 cup (185ml) olive oil

Method

1.Combine all ingredients, except the olive oil, in a food processor and process until combined.

2.With the motor running, slowly add the oil and adjust seasoning to taste.

Serve with pasta, on toast or in salad dressings.
