Method

1.In a frying pan, heat oil on medium. Saute onions 2-3 minutes, until starting to soften.
2.Stir through balsamic vinegar and sugar. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are tender and starting to caramelise. Cool slightly.
3.Heat a second frying pan or barbecue plate on high. Cook sausages 5-10 minutes, turning, until cooked through and browned. Serve in bread with onions and sauce.

Replace sausages with frankfurters, if desired.
