Saucy ham, cheese and tomato fingers

These tasty ham, cheese and tomato fingers are easy to make and wonderfully saucy. Your family will love the oozy, melted cheese sauce sandwiched between crunchy, toasted Turkish pide.

Method

1.Preheat oven 200°C (180°C fan-forced).
2.Place turkish bread on an oven tray. Spread mustard evenly over base. Arrange ham and tomatoes on top.
3.To make sauce: melt butter in a medium saucepan on high. Stir in flour. Cook 1 minute. Remove saucepan from heat. Blend in milk, until smooth, and return to heat. Cook, stirring, until sauce boils and thickens. Mix cheese through. Season to taste.
4.Spread sauce over ham. Cover with remaining Turkish half. Bake 10-15 minutes, until golden Cut into fingers to serve.

Change the filling according to taste – try salami and char-grilled capsicum, or prosciutto and char-grilled eggplant.
