Method
1.Preheat oven to 150°C. Lightly grease a 10 x 20cm loaf pan and line base and sides with baking paper.
2.In a medium saucepan, combine butter, sugar and treacle. Heat on low, stirring, until dissolved. Allow to cool.
3.Sift flours, ginger, baking powder, cinnamon and soda together into a large bowl. Whisk sour cream and eggs into butter mixture. Fold into dry ingredients until well combined.
4.Pour mixture into pan. Bake for 1 hour, 10 minutes, until cooked when tested with a skewer. Cool in pan for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Serve sliced with butter.
