Method
1.Preheat oven to 180ºC. Grease 20cm x 30cm rectangular pan and line base and long sides with baking paper, extending paper 5cm over sides.
2.Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat; stir in sugar until dissolved. Remove from heat; stand 5 minutes. Stir in figs, then egg and sifted flour and cocoa. Press mixture into pan.
3.Bake about 15 minutes. Cool slice in pan before cutting into pieces.
