1 black licorice strap

Method

1.Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F. Line 12-hole (⅓-cup/80ml) muffin pan with paper cases.

2.Make cake according to directions on packet. Pour ¼ cup of mixture into each paper case; bake about 20 minutes. Stand cakes 5 minutes before turning onto wire rack to cool.

3.Meanwhile, to make butter cream, beat butter in small bowl with electric mixer until pale. Beat in sifted icing sugar and milk, in two batches.

4.Divide butter cream between six bowls; tint one bowl with black to make grey, tint remaining bowls mauve, brown, red, green and yellow.

5.To make Randolph rabbit; spread mauve butter cream over one cake. Position strawberries and creams for ears. Position Smarties for eyes, M&M for nose and Tic Tacs for teeth. Cut licorice into strips and position for mouth and whiskers. Using gel, pipe pupils onto eyes.

6.To make the ladybird; spread red butter cream over one cake. Cut a half-moon shape from licorice and position for head. Cut licorice into a thin strip; position for wings. Place M&M’s for spots. Use white gel to dot eyes onto front of head.

7.To make the kandy koala; spread grey butter cream over one cake. Position Melts and M&M’s for ears. Position Fizzers for eyes and jelly bean for nose. Using gel, pipe dots onto eyes for pupils.

8.To make miss bear; spread brown butter cream over one cake. Position Melts for ears, Dairy Milk round for nose and M&M’s for eyes. Using a little butter cream, secure remaining M&M on nose. Trim pink layer from allsort; cut into two equal-sized triangles, position for bow. Carefully drop sprinkles over face for fur. Cut licorice into strip for mouth. Using gel, pipe dots onto eyes.

9.To make figaro frog; cut small slit in front of one cake for mouth. Spread a little brown butter cream inside mouth. Spread green butter cream over top of cake. Cut Mallow Bake in half; position on frog for eyes, put Smartie for tongue. Use a little butter cream to secure M&M’s for pupils.

10.To make felicity fish; spread yellow butter cream over one cake. Cut orange jube in half horizontally, then in half vertically; position for fins and tail. Position jelly beans for mouth and M&M for eye. Position Choc Bits for scales.
