Method
1.Preheat oven to moderate, 180°C. Lightly grease a 20cm square, 8-cup baking dish.
2.Butter both sides of bread generously. Arrange neatly in dish, ensuring base is covered.
3.In a large jug, whisk milk, eggs and sugar together. Pour into dish.
4.Cover dish with foil. Bake 15 minutes. Remove foil. Bake further 25-30 minutes, until golden and set in centre. Set aside to cool 10 minutes before serving.
Do not overcook pudding- they become too dry.
