1.Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Grease a 12-hole, 1/3 cup-capacity friand or muffin pan.
2.Combine egg, milk and oil in a bowl. In a separate bowl, sift together flours, bicarbonate of soda and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Add pear, brown sugar and egg mixture and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
3.Spoon pear mixture into prepared pan. Bake for 20 minutes, until muffins are golden and a skewer inserted comes out clean. Cool in pan for 5 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.
4.Combine icing sugar and remaining cinnamon in a small bowl. Dust warm muffins with cinnamon sugar. Serve muffins warm or at room temperature.
