Apple, currant and cinnamon pastries

Deliciously sweet and juicy cinnamon apples and currants are brilliant swirled through this beautiful sugar dusted pastry.

Ingredients

Method

1.Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C fan-forced). Lightly grease and line a baking tray with baking paper.
2.Place apple-pie filling, currants, allspice, ginger, brown sugar and 1 egg in a small bowl and mix until well combined. Spread apple mixture over pastry sheets.
3.Roll up each pastry sheet tightly to enclose filling. Cut each roll into four and place on prepared tray. Brush with remaining egg and bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden. Dust with icing sugar to serve.

Tip: Mix the ingredients for the filling just before making pastries to prevent too much juice being created.
