Method
1.Heat on in a large saucepan on medium. Saute onions, garlic, cumin and coriander 3-4 minutes onion is tender.
2.Transfer half onion mixture to a large bowl to cool. Add cinnamon to remaining onion mixture in pan. Stir on low heat for 1 minute, until fragrant.
3.Mix in passata, diced tomatoes and chocolate. Bring to boil. Simmer 6-8 minutes.
4.Meanwhile, add mince to cooled onion mixture with breadcrumbs and coriander. Season to taste and mix well. Roll tablespoons of mixture into bails.
5.Add meatballs to simmering sauce. Simmer 12-15 minutes, until cooked through. Serve meatballs with rice and extra coriander.
The small amount of chocolate gives a slight bitterness and more depth to this sauce.
