Method

1.Preheat oven to 220°C or 200°C fan. Grease and flour a baking tray. Sift flour and 1 teaspoon salt into a bowl. Rub in butter with fingertips, until mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add cooled pumpkin, sugar and egg. Mix with a knife to form a soft dough. Knead lightly on a floured surface.
2.Pat out to a 15 x 20cm rectangle. Place on prepared tray and cut into dough to form 12 squares. Brush with milk. Bake for 20 minutes, until risen and golden. Remove from oven, wrap in a tea towel for a few minutes and serve with butter.
