Method
1.Preheat oven to 170°C. Line 3-4 oven trays with baking paper.
2.Place butter and caster sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer. Beat for 4-5 minutes, until pale and fluffy. Heat the golden syrup and milk in a small saucepan until it just reaches boiling point. Stir in the baking soda, it will become frothy. Pour into the creamed mixture and beat until combined. Sift over the flour, using a spatula to combine. Lastly, fold in the milk chocolate bits.
3.Roll heaped teaspoonfuls of mixture into balls, place on prepared oven trays leaving plenty of room to spread. Flatten each biscuit a little with a fork.
4.Bake biscuits in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until golden. Leave for a few minutes before transferring to cooling racks
