Ingredients
Method
In a large bowl, combine mince, onion, egg, garlic and spice. Season to taste.
Shape mixture into 4 even-sized, flattened patties. Chill 15-20 minutes.
Heat half oil in a large flying pan on medium. Cook patties 4-5 minutes each side, until cooked through. Turn heat to low. Place two cheese slices on each. Cook a further 1-2 minutes, until cheese melts.
In a separate large frying pan, heat remaining oil on medium. Cook bacon 2-3 minutes each side, until crisp. Drain on paper towel.
Top base of each roll with lettuce, avocado, jalapenos, a patty and bacon. Cover with tops of rolls. Serve with barbecue sauce.
Serving suggestion: Onion Rings. Make these by combining 1/3 cup self-raising flour and about 1/3 cup soda water to make a thick batter. Slice 1 onion thickly and dip rings into batter. Drain slightly then shallow-fry in hot oil.
