Method

.Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F. Grease deep 31cm (12-inch) oval cake pan; line base and side with baking paper, extending paper 5cm above side.
.Make cakes according to directions on packets. Spread mixture into pan; bake about 1½ hours. Stand cake in pan 5 minutes before turning, top-side up, onto wire rack to cool.
.To make butter cream, beat butter until white as possible, gradually beat in half the sifted icing sugar then milk, then remaining icing sugar. Beat until smooth.
.Level cake top; secure cake, cut-side down, on 40cm x 45cm (16-inch x 18-inch) rectangular cake board with a little butter cream.
.Tint butter cream green, then carefully add a few drops of red and blue colouring to give a rich, deep green colour; spread butter cream all over cake.
.Combine sugar and green colouring in small plastic bag; rub together until sugar is coloured green. Sprinkle top of cake with green sugar.
.Cut 4cm x 15cm rectangle from centre of 9 x 18cm cardboard. Place cardboard on cake; sprinkle yellow jelly crystals inside cardboard. Gently lift cardboard off cake.
.Position players and stumps on top of cake.

Player position seems to indicate only a handful of runs are needed before the end of the match. Budding cricketers will surely want a rematch before cutting into this fun cake.
