Method

1.In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatine over 2 tablespoons water and set aside. Heat remaining water, cloves and brown sugar in a small saucepan on medium. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in gelatine mixture, until dissolved. Discard cloves and cool slightly.
2.Stir gelatine mixture into buttermilk. Pour into 6 x 1/2-cup moulds. Chill for 1 hour, until set.
3.CHERRY SYRUP: Place orange juice and sugar in a saucepan on medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves. Add cherries. Cover and cook for 5 minutes, until cherries are tender and their juices have been released. Stir in kirsch, if desired. Cool.
4.Run a metal spatula around top edge of mould. Invert onto a plate and shake gently to remove. Serve puddings with Cherry Syrup.
