Apple blondies with lemon glaze

This gorgeous buttery slice is made even better with the addition of thin apple slices and a delicious lemon glaze.

Method

1.Preheat oven to moderate, 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Lightly grease and line a 20cmx30cm slice pan with baking paper.
2.In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, meal and cardamom. Stir in apples.
3.In a small jug, whisk butter and eggs together. Add to dry ingredients, stirring to combine. Using floured fingertips, press mixture into pan. Top with extra fanned apple slices.
4.Bake 20-25 minutes until light golden and just cooked in centre. Cool in pan.
5.To make lemon glaze: In a small bowl, stir all ingredients together. Drizzle over cooled slice. Allow to set. Cut into squares to serve.
