Beans with tomato and oregano

This aromatic easy side dish will ignite the senses alongside many mains you might be considering for lunch or dinner. It's also an exciting way to tick off the daily vegetable intake.

Ingredients

Method

1.Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook about 10 minutes or until softened.
2.Add crushed tomatoes and sugar; simmer about 10 minutes or until thickened.
3.Add beans, cover and cook until tender. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Serve sprinkled with the oregano.

Roman beans are also known as continental or italian beans. If unavailable, runner or green beans can be used instead. Suitable to freeze. Not suitable to microwave.
