Preheat oven to moderate, 180°C. Lightly grease and line a 20 x 30cm slice pan with baking paper.

In a large bowl, mix butter, flour, coconut and sugar together. Press mixture evenly into base of pan. Bake 10 minutes.

In a small saucepan, combine condensed milk, syrup and extra butter. Stir on low heat 1-2 minutes until smooth. Pour evenly over cooked base. Bake 10 minutes until golden and begins to bubble.

Immediately press walnuts into soft topping. Allow to cool completely. Cut into slices to serve.
