Method
1.In a large saucepan. combine fruit, juice, water, cinnamon and cardamom. Bring to a simmer on medium heat. Simmer, covered, 5 minutes. Uncover and simmer a further 10-12 minutes, until fruit is tender and liquid reduces by half. Remove cinnamon stick and cardamom pods.
2.In a small saucepan combine custard powder, sugar and 1/4 cup milk, stirring to a smooth paste. Gradually add remaining milk, stirring until smooth. Cook on medium, stirring constantly, 2-3 minutes, until mixture boils and thickens. Simmer 3 minutes. Stir in vanilla and remove from heat.
3.Divide custard between 4 serving glasses. Chill 10 minutes until slightly set. Spoon fruit and poaching liquid over custard.
