1.Preheat oven to 160°C on fan bake. Lightly butter and flour one 23 x 13cm loaf pan.
2.Combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger in a large bowl and set aside.
3.In a mixer, beat the pumpkin puree, eggs, butter, vegetable oil, sugar and 2/3 cup water until well blended.
4.Turn the mixer to low and combine the flour mixture with the pumpkin mixture.
5.Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 45 to 50 minutes.
6.Allow to cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
If your family members are not that keen on pumpkin, don’t tell them the name of this loaf! They will never know and just think it’s a delicious, spicy bread.
