While domestic consumption of wine is dropping – 10 years ago we drank 21.5 litres per head annually, now it’s 19.2 – it’s more a case of quality over quantity, with more of us educating ourselves on what makes a really excellent glass of wine. This year, Bob reckons the biggest area of growth will be in low-alcohol wines, and he expects light, bright reds to remain firmly on trend. But always remember, price is never a good guide when it comes to choosing the drop for you – instead, heed Bob’s recommendations to find that magic bottle!
