Ingredients

Method

1.Preheat oven to 180°C. Rub a shallow ovenproof dish with garlic. Butter dish generously. Lay potato slices in dish.
2.Bring milk to a boil, then remove from heat instantly. Add nutmeg, then season to taste. Pour over potatoes in dish. Sprinkle with cheese and dot with remaining butter.
3.Bake for 55-60 minutes, until potatoes are tender and golden. Cover with foil if potatoes are browning too quickly. Serve.
