1.Preheat the oven to 180ËšC. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper. In a large bowl, combine the oats, coconut, flour, spice, brown sugar and almonds.
2.In a small saucepan, combine the butter and molasses and heat, stirring, until melted. Simmer for 2 minutes, then remove from the heat. Stir the baking soda into the water and let it foam up, then mix into the butter. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and stir until well incorporated.
3.Roll into walnut-sized balls and arrange on trays allowing for spreading. Flatten slightly with fingertips or a fork and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden. Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
