Put pasta in large saucepan and cook according to packet directions, until al dente (firm to the bite).

Meanwhile, place oil and garlic in frying pan and heat slowly. Add tomatoes and basil and cook for a few minutes.

Drain pasta and add to frying pan. Toss well to combine. Sprinkle with parmesan (if desired) and season to serve.
