1.Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Spray a 20cm-square ovenproof dish with oil.
2.Place broccoli in a steaming basket over a saucepan of simmering water. Cook, covered, 3-4 minutes or until just tender. Drain well; transfer to prepared dish.
3.In a medium bowl, combine breadcrumbs, cheese and garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Add oil and, using your hands, mix until well combined. Sprinkle breadcrumb mixture evenly over broccoli in dish. Bake 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Ensure the broccoli is well coated with the crumb mixture so it does not dry out during cooking. Process 3 slices of bread to make crumbs.
