Ingredients

Method

1.Preheat oven to moderately hot, 200°C (180°C fan-forced). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
2.Combine apple, breadcrumbs, sugar, cinnamon, sultanas and nuts in a medium bowl.
3.Stack pastry sheets, spraying each sheet lightly with oil.
4.Spread apple filling over pastry, leaving a 5cm border at edge of both short sides and 2cm at edge on one long side. Fold short sides over; starting from filled long-side, roll strudel to enclose filling. Place seam-side down on prepared tray.
5.Brush strudel with milk. Bake in a moderately hot oven for about 25 minutes or until browned. Serve with ice-cream, if desired.

Not suitable to freeze or microwave.
