Method
1.Preheat oven to 170°C/150°C fan forced. Grease and line base and side of a 20cm (base diameter) round cake pan with baking paper.
2.Place chopped butter and chocolate in a heavy-based saucepan over low heat. Cook and stir for 3 minutes or until melted and smooth. Remove from heat; cool slightly.
3.Add sifted flour, caster sugar, egg and milk to chocolate mixture in pan; stir until well combined.
4.Pour mixture into prepared cake pan; level top. Bake for 50 minutes or until a skewer inserted at centre comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
5. Sift icing sugar and cocoa powder into a medium bowl. Add extra butter and extra milk. Using an electric mixer, beat until thick and creamy. Spread icing over top and sides of cake. Serve.
