Best barbecued marinated steaks with quick steak sauce

Is there anything better than steaks cooked on the barbie? This recipe produces beautifully marinated steaks that are perfect served with tender new potatoes and homemade steak sauce

Method

Best marinated steaks

1.Combine the oil, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, celery salt and peppercorns and mix well. Add the steaks and marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature, or 4 hours chilled.
2.Preheat barbecue to medium. Drain steaks from the marinade and arrange in a single layer, leaving room around each on the grill plate. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the meat changes colour around the base and about ¼ the way up the thickness of the steak. Turnover and continue to cook a further 2-3 minutes for medium-rare or longer for well-done. Rest steaks for 5 minutes before serving.
3.Meanwhile make the sauce (see below). Serve steak with the sauce, greens and potatoes.

Quick steak sauce

4.Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan. Simmer for 5 minutes.

The marinade is very versatile, try it on pork chops or lamb racks. The steak sauce is delicious with sausages too.
