Orange liqueur custard

This zesty custard would go wonderfully with a steamed ginger pudding.

Ingredients

Method

1.Combine custard powder and sugar in a small saucepan; gradually stir in orange juice and water. Stir mixture constantly over medium-high heat until it boils and thickens (or microwave on HIGH for about 5 minutes).
2.Stir in sour cream, orange rind and liqueur. Serve custard hot.

The custard can be made the day before; store, covered, in the fridge. Reheat custard gently when required. Cointreau and Grand Marnier are citrus flavoured liqueurs, but use your favourite brand. This recipe is not suitable to freeze.
