Method

Frozen margarita

1.Rub one lime half around the rim of a 150ml (4½-fluid ounce) margarita glass; turn the glass upside-down and dip wet rim into a saucer of salt.
2.Juice the limes (you need 30ml/1 fluid ounce of juice).
3.Blend or process ingredients until smooth. Pour into glass; garnish with fresh mint leaves and slices of lime.

Sugar syrup

4.Stir 1 cup caster (superfine) sugar with 1 cup water in a small saucepan, over low heat, until sugar dissolves; bring to the boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, without stirring, for 5 minutes.
5.Remove from heat; cool to room temperature. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 month.

If you prefer, you can buy the sugar syrup from liquor stores.
