Spiced & spiked hot chocolate

A range of spices really enhance this hot chocolate



1.Cut 2 slices from a medium orange. Stud the white pith of each slice with cloves.
2.Place orange slices, water, star anise, brown sugar and spiced rum in a small saucepan. Simmer gently over low heat until syrupy. Remove orange, cloves and star anise, reserving to serve.
3.Add dark chocolate, stirring until melted and smooth.
4.Stir in milk and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
5.Pour into two large mugs. Top with vanilla ice cream, orange slices and star anise.

If you desire even more chocolate decadence, replace vanilla ice cream with choc chip ice cream.
