Method
1.Melt butter alternative in a frying pan 1 high. Saute onion and garlic for 2-3 minutes, until onion is tender.
2.Add chicken livers. Saute for 5-7 minutes, until browned and cooked through.
3.Transfer mixture to a food processor with cream cheese, cognac and nutmeg. Season to taste. Process until smooth. Fold in thyme.
4.Spoon into a serving dish. Cover with plastic wrap and chill overnight. Serve with crackers or crusty bread.
If desired, melt a little extra low-fat butter alternative and spread over top of pate before chilling.
