Warm fruit salad with vanilla syrup

This gorgeous warm fruit salad harks back to memories of warm apple pie and is such a delicious way to start the day.

Method

1.Preheat oven to 170°C.
2.Place sugar, water, vanilla beans, lemon zest and juice in a saucepan. Bring to the boil then immediately remove from heat.
3.Place apple, pear, persimmon and orange in a large baking dish in a single layer. Pour sugar syrup over them and cover well with foil. Bake for 40 minutes or until apples and pears are soft (cooking time will depend on ripeness of fruit). Serve warm or cold.
