Brigadeiros (condensed milk truffles)

These decadent and indulgent condensed milk truffles (known in Brazil as brigadeiros) are so easy to make and are the perfect treat to add a sweet edge to your day

Method

1.Whisk the condensed milk and cocoa together until smooth. Stir in the melted butter. Pour into a medium saucepan and place over medium-low heat, stirring constantly to stop it from catching.
2.Cook until the mixture thickens and starts to show the bottom of the saucepan when you drag your wooden spoon through the centre (10-15 minutes).
3.Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla. Spread out evenly onto a greased dish. Let it cool to room temperature.
4.Grease your hands with a little butter. Use a teaspoon to make balls the same size and roll. Place the toppings in separate dishes. Finally, place the balls into the chocolate sprinkles, nuts and Flake bar and roll.
  • If you don’t get the right consistency, and the cooked mixture is so soft it cannot be rolled, simply serve piped on spoons or into small glasses.
