1.Preheat oven to moderately slow, 160°C. Line 2 oven trays with baking paper.
2.In a jug, combine water and bicarbonate of soda, stirring to dissolve. Add butter and syrup.
3.In a large bowl, stir muesli, flour, sugar, apple and cinnamon together. Pour in butter mixture, mixing until well combined.
4.Place heaped tablespoons of mixture on trays, 6cm apart. Bake in 2 batches, for 10-12 minutes each, until lightly golden. Cool on trays for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
MAKES 30 These are great for those with an allergy to eggs. If you have a fan-forced oven setting, it will circulate air, which gives more even cooking and is great for baking biscuits. Just reduce the oven temperature by 10°C.
