Method
1.Preheat oven to moderate, 180°C (160°C fan forced). Line a 12-cup muffin tray with paper patty cases.
2.Spoon cake mixture evenly into cases until 2/3 full. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until cooked when tested. Cool in pan for 5 minutes before turning onto a wire rack to cool completely.
3.DECORATIONS: Divide butter cream into three bowls and colour one pink and one yellow. Spread cooled cakes with butter cream.
4.FOR PIG. Halve a pink marshmallow. Make nostrils by piercing marshmallow twice. Position in centre of pink cake. Cut remaining marshmallow in quarters and position ears. Press two white cashous into cake for eyes.
5.FOR COW. Cut out black spots from liquorice strap. Press onto white cake. Halve a white marshmallow and position for nose. Cut remaining marshmallow in half and position ears. Cut small pieces of another white marshmallow and two liquorice pieces for eyes, as shown.
6.FOR SHEEP. Place white choc melt in centre of white cake. Cover edges with mini mallows. Cut legs and face from liquorice strap. Position as shown.
7.FOR CHICKEN. Place white choc melt in centre of yellow cake. Cut two wedges from wafer, a slice of musk stick and two small spots of liquorice strap. Position as shown to form face.
These are a fun way to entertain kids as a party activity. Prepare cakes and icings beforehand and let guests create their own farmyard animals with lollies. MAKES 12
