Ingredients

Method

1.In a medium bowl, combine beef, onion, parsley, egg and garlic. Season to taste. Shape mixture into 4 evenly-sized flattened patties. Place on a tray. Cover and chill for 15 minutes until firm.
2.Meanwhile, heat vegetable oil in a large saucepan over medium heat until a cube of bread dropped in sizzles immediately. Deep-fry chips, in batches, until just tender. Drain on paper towel. Cool slightly.
3.Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large frying pan on medium. Cook patties for 3-5 minutes each side until cooked through. Top each with a piece of cheese. Set aside and cover to keep warm. Cook bacon in same pan on high for 2-3 minutes each side until crisp.
4.Spread tomato sauce on one side of each roll. Top with lettuce, tomato, pattie and bacon, then the remaining half of roll.
5.Deep-fry chips again. Drain on paper towel. Place chips in a bowl, season to taste. Serve with burgers.
