Try your hand at savoury pancakes with this Asian-inspired recipe. Featuring flavour combinations like hoisin sauce, Chinese five-spice and ginger, this chicken dish is a winner
1.In a large frying pan, heat oil on high. Cook chicken for 4-5 minutes each side until cooked through. Rest for 5 minutes, then thinly slice.
2.In a bowl, stir flour and water together to make a smooth dough. Roll into a log and cut into 12 pieces. Roll out each piece into a 12cm round.
3.In a large frying pan on medium, cook each pancake for 30 seconds each side until a few lightly browned bubbles appear (pancakes should be soft, not crisp).
4.Serve each pancake topped with vegetables, chicken and sauce. Roll up and secure with extra onion strips.

5.In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring to the boil and simmer for 3-4 minutes until dates soften. Strain through a fine sieve, discarding solids.
