1.Heat a deep frying pan over moderate heat. Add sausages; cook and turn for 4 minutes or until browned. Transfer to a heatproof board. Cut into 2cm slices.
2.Add onion, garlic, herbs and 1 tablespoon water to the same pan over moderate heat; cook and stir for 3 minutes or until soft. Stir in tomato paste, fennel, tomato and 1 cup water. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes or until vegetables are almost tender.
3.Add sausage, cannellini beans and green beans to pan; simmer for 5 minutes more or until cooked and sauce has reduced. Serve with bread rolls.
Use green capsicum or zucchini instead of fennel. Choose any flavour of sausage.
