Method

1.Place prawn, onion, egg, flour and sesame oil in a medium bowl; stir until well combined. Season.
2.Combine coleslaw mix, soy sauce, mayonnaise, sesame seeds and extra sesame oil in a medium bowl; toss to combine. Set aside.
3.Heat oil in a large, deep frying pan over moderate heat (oil is ready when a cube of bread crisps quickly without absorbing oil).
4.Place 1/4 cups of mixture into frying pan; cook, in batches, 5 minutes each side, or until golden brown and cooked. Serve warm with salad and extra onion.

To shallow-fry, pour oil into a frying pan to 2cm deep. You’ll find packaged coleslaw mix available from the fresh food section of supermarkets. You can buy fresh uncooked prawn meat from the seafood counter of supermarkets.
