Ingredients
Caramelised onion
Method
1.Combine mince, breadcrumbs, barbecue sauce and garlic in a large bowl. Season to taste. Shape into four patties. Place on a plate, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
2.Meanwhile, to make caramelised onion, melt margarine in a pan on medium heat. Cook onion, stirring occasionally, for 8-10 minutes, until very soft. Add sugar and vinegar. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, for 4-5 minutes, until onion is caramelised. Transfer to a bowl. Cool.
3.Heat a non-stick frying pan on medium. Spray patties with cooking oil and cook for 6-7 minutes each side, until cooked through.
4.Top roll bases with lettuce, capsicum, patties, cheese, caramelised onion and tomato sauce. Serve with chips.
If you’re feeding small children, halve the size of the patties. Freeze uncooked patties for another day.
