Ingredients

Method

1.Preheat oven to very hot, 220°C.
2.Sift flour into a bowl; make a well in centre. Combine milk, water and egg in a jug; whisk liquid mixture into flour, until smooth.
3.Heat an ovenproof frying pan on medium; cook sausages 5 minutes, until browned.
4.Add oil to pan. When pan is hot, pour batter around sausages; bake 20-25 minutes, until crisp and golden.
5.Heat liquid gravy in a saucepan on medium. Stir in onion, sugar and worcestershire sauce; season to taste. Cook 2-3 minutes. Serve with sliced toad in the hole.

If you don’t have an ovenproof frying pan, place sausages and oil in a loaf pan. Bake 5 minutes, until very hot. Pour batter around sausages. Continue as directed.
