1.In a large, heavy- based saucepan heat oil on medium. Cook sausages 4-6 minutes, turning on all sides, until well browned. Transfer to a plate. When cool enough to handle, slice.
2.Add onion to same pan. Cook on high, stirring, 4-5 minutes until golden. Add spices and cook 1 minute, stirring.
3.Mix in stock and tomatoes. Bring to simmer, then stir in lentils. Reduce heat to medium and simmer, covered, 20-25 minutes, until lentils are tender.
4.Add broccoli and cook a further 3-5 minutes, until tender. Serve dhal on a bed of rice topped with a dollop of yoghurt and coriander.
If you like spice, add 1/2 teaspoon of chilli flakes to this dish.
