Method
Teddy bear’s picnic
1.Preheat oven to moderate, 180°C. Lightly grease and line a 20cm square cake pan with baking paper.
2.Spoon cake mixture into pan, smoothing top. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until cooked when tested with a skewer. Cool in pan for 5 minutes before turning onto a wire rack to cool completely.
3.Tint butter cream with green food colouring. Spread all over sides of cake, reserving enough for the top.
4.To make the decorations: In a zip lock bag, combine coconut and food colouring. Shake vigorously until well coated. Transfer to a large tray. Roll sides of cake in coconut. Transfer cake to serving board or plate. Spread reserved butter cream over the top of the cake and sprinkle with remaining coconut. Arrange toys for picnic as shown.
Replace toys with Caramello Koalas or Teddy Bear biscuits, edible flowers and lollies shaped like foods, such as fruits, hotdogs and pizza.
