Ingredients
Method
1.Preheat oven to hot, 200°C. Line two oven trays with baking paper.
2.In a frying pan, melt butter on medium. Cook green apples, stirring, for 4-5 minutes until golden. Stir in golden syrup, caster sugar, ground cinnamon and ground allspice. Bring to a simmer and cook for 4-5 minutes until liquid boils and thickens.
3.Stir cornflour through. Remove from heat, transfer to a bowl and set aside to cool. Stir hazelnuts through.
4.Using puff pastry, cut each into quarters. Divide apple mixture evenly between one half of each quarter. Beat egg and use to brush sides of each. Fold pastry over to form a triangle, pressing edges and twisting at 1cm intervals to seal. Transfer to tray. Brush with remaining egg. Sprinkle with sugar (see recipe tip).
5.Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden and puffed. Serve dusted with icing sugar. Accompany with raspberries and scoops of ice cream.
Note
- If preferred, you can omit sprinkling with sugar before baking.
