Method
1.Preheat oven to moderate, 180°C. Line 2 oven trays with baking paper.
2. In a bowl, using an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar together until creamy. Add vanilla and zest. Beat in egg-yolks until well combined.
3.Beat in milk, followed by sifted combined flours. Bring together on a lightly floured surface.
4.Roll tablespoons of mixture into a 20cm logs. Twist into scroll shapes of choice. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
5.Arrange on trays. Bake 15-20 minutes, until golden. Cool completely on trays. Store in an airtight container.
Dust with icing sugar before serving, if liked. Turn these into chocolate koulourakia by replacing 1/4 cup of plain flour with 1/4 cup cocoa.
