Jelly bean train cake

.Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease cake pan; line base and sides with baking paper, extending paper 5cm above sides.
.Make cakes according to directions on packets. Pour mixture into pan; bake about 1 hour. Stand cake in pan for 10 minutes before turning, top-side up, onto a wire rack to cool. Using a serrated knife, level cake to 4cm high.
.Cut cake into five 5cm x 5cm rectangles and one 2cm x 2cm rectangle.
.Make butter cream icing. Divide butter cream into three small bowls; tint green, blue and yellow. Spread small cake and two larger cakes with green butter cream. Spread two larger cakes with blue butter cream and the remaining cake with yellow butter cream.
.Make engine by joining small cake and a blue cake on the cake board. Arrange remaining carriages on board. Cut and discard tops off Allen’s Milk Bottles. Use 4 Milk Bottles to join the carriages together.
.Using the picture as a guide, decorate engine and carriages with Life Savers and Allen’s Funfair Thrills, and jelly beans. Cut remaining Allen’s Milk Bottles in half lengthways; position on either side of the front carriage. Place candle at front of cake; slide Pep-O-Mint Life Savers over candle.

Butter cream icing

.In a small bowl, using an electric mixer, beat butter until it’s as white as possible.
.Gradually beat half the sifted icing sugar, then the milk, then the remaining icing sugar.
.Beat until the butter cream is smooth and spreadable. Keep scraping down the side of the bowl while beating.
