Ingredients

Method

1.Preheat oven to 200°C. Line a roasting dish with baking paper.
2.In a jug, combine water, honey and sugar, stirring to dissolve.
3.Arrange pears in single layer in dish, cut side down. Scatter over peel and cinnamon. Pour over honey mixture. Cover tightly with foil and bake 15-20 minutes.
4.Remove foil and turn pears over. Bake, uncovered, a further 15-20 minutes, basting with syrup halfway, until just tender. Serve with yoghurt or ice-cream.

The best pears for baking are beurre bosc, packham or william bartlett.
