Flying saucer cake

.Preheat oven to moderate, 18O°C. Lightly grease and line a 24cm round cake pan with baking paper. Grease and flour a 4-cup pudding basin.
.Spoon three-quarters of cake mixture into round pan, smoothing top. Pour remaining cake mixture into pudding basin and smooth surface. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove pudding basin from oven and check for doneness. Continue cooking round cake for a further 10-15 minutes, until cooked when tested with a skewer.
.Cool both cakes in pans for 5 minutes before turning onto a wire rack to cool completely.
.Tint butter cream grey with food colouring. Trim top of small cake to create flat surface. Spread trimmed surface with a little butter cream, invert and position on top of round cake. Place on serving plate or board. Cover cake completely with butter cream.
