Method
1.Unwrap cakes; freeze for 30 minutes or until firm.
2.For the cricket bat, trim 2 of the cakes at a 45-degree angle, from the centre of the cake, on each side. Spread a little frosting over the base of both cakes. Place on the cake board. Cut a 12 x 2.5cm rectangle from the remaining cake for handle. Spread a little white icing on base of handle. Place handle at top of cake.
3.Using a 5cm round cookie cutter, cut a round from remaining cake. Spread a little frosting over base of ball, then place near bat. Tint 3/4 cup of the frosting with red colouring. Spread a little of the red frosting over ball and handle to cover. Spread bat with a little vanilla frosting to cover. Freeze for 30 minutes or until frosting is firm.
4.Spread remaining red frosting over ball and handle. Spread remaining vanilla frosting over bat. Use white writing icing to form stitching on the ball. Use black writing icing to write birthday message.
5.Place coconut in a resealable food storage bag. Add a few drops green colouring; seal. Shake well, scrunching to distribute colour evenly. Sprinkle coconut onto board around ball and bat.
You’ll need a 45 x 30cm cake board.
